Kaitzak officially launched at The Black Toro on 6 May 2025, bringing together over 80 guests for an evening filled with purpose. The event was a success, raising over $15,000AUD to support Kaitzak’s vision of empowering the global Armenian diaspora. Attendees included representatives from nearly all of Melbourne’s key diaspora organisations, creating a powerful atmosphere of unity and shared commitment to cultural preservation, civic participation and strengthening ties to the Homeland.
Co-founders Mariam Vahradyan and André Vartan-Boghossian presented Kaitzak’s mission, sharing the inspiration of the strengths-based approach behind the platform, and outlining the projects already underway, as well as potential future projects. Kaitzak aims to connect diasporans, elevate community voices, and support initiatives that strengthen collective identity and social impact. Part of the mission is focused on building an inclusive, online space for civic engagement. The launch marked not just the beginning of a new organisation, but the spark of a growing global movement dedicated to amplifying the strength and stories of diaspora communities worldwide.
As the current Diaspora Youth Ambassador to Australia, André also presented the available initiatives both in civil society and public sectors, whereby Diasporans can find information and support to get involved in Armenia; initiatives such as iGorts and the Youth Ambassador program, and organisations such as Repat Armenia and Birthright Armenia.
